Experience

Dominic spent 34 years at McKinsey & Company, including 9 years as the Global Managing Partner and 6 years as Asia Chairman. Dominic oversaw the considerable expansion of McKinsey’s global presence and services, with significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, and post-merger management. He has also held a broad range of public sector and academic leadership positions, including serving as Canada’s Ambassador to China, Chair of Canada’s Advisory Council for Economic Growth, and Chair of the International Advisory Committee to the President of South Korea on National Future and Vision. He also brings previous experience in the mining industry through his role as the Chair of Teck Resources. Dominic is a co-founder of FCLT Global, an organisation dedicated to promoting long-term investment, and serves as Chairman of Leapfrog Investments, a private investment firm focused on emerging markets and social and environmental impact. Dominic’s business acumen, public sector and governance experience position him to provide effective leadership of Rio Tinto’s Board and balanced guidance to the Company’s leadership team. Dominic believes in the competitive advantage of putting people at the heart of strategy and the role culture change will play in Rio Tinto’s future success.
